Some highlights of our history include:

Murry K. Pruyn laid the foundation of Pillar Group in 1927 as an office agent for the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company.
Theodore Pruyn, Murry’s son, joined his father in business in 1948. Theodore assumed control of the agency during the middle 1950s
In the mid-seventies the company went through explosive growth
Today's Pillar Group is a result of the 1993 acquisition of Herke Insurance Center by Philip R. Peterson and Daniel T. Touw. Mr. Peterson serves as Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Touw serves as President.
In 2000, we changed our name to better reflect the core values of our firm and our approach to be a pillar of strength for our clients.
